On Moderating .....

 One of the lads was made a Moderator, on the forum, the other day. He hadn't held the position even a day when the usual fucking idiots were all over him, screaming that he should be sacked.

  Then, they opened up a whole thread, screaming about him, another forum mod' and me ~ I manage the Chat Room. 

I've no idea who was saying what about whom. I don't read such shit. I just saw my handle in the title and that it was locked, by the new lad, at the third page.

 Anyway, they're trying to reduce the Chat Room to their own ring leaders little vision of utopian anarchy, now. Water off a ducks back, to me. I've seen it all So Many times before.

  See; I've, pretty constantly, been a Moderator, on a wide range of fora, for over a decade now. I know the patterns. I sent the new guy a note about it. It said very much like this:

  As Moderators, we'll encounter just the three types of people, on a forum.  One, the ordinary person who thinks, " Moderators? Who? What? Nothing to do with me. I just come here to read and, maybe, reply to the odd post. I guess, if I can't figure a function, I'll ask one for help. "

 Second type are those bitter and twisted little souls, trapped in a world of endless torment. They are absolutely fucking incandessent that they have not been recognised for their innate and obvious powers.

 They've not been made Moddies, despite having gathered and towing around their own little clique of sycophantic followers.

  These are the ones that'll rail against any and everything a new Mod' says or does. They'll spit their dummies and throw their toys. Clench their little fists. Stamp their feet and scream until they go all red in the face.

  Fuck them. Ignore them or delete them. They want to rule. And they can't.

 Third type of person? That'll be the Owner of the site. This is the person who took the trouble to crack open a forum. Do the decorating. And then sit back and wait for people to join it, and post. 

  It's Their Site. On their site, they are God. Their word is Law. If you don't like what they say? You fuck off and find a site you Do like. Can't find one? Gather your little crew and go open a site of your own. Be God there. To them.

 We won't care. Because Our 'God' has appointed us to uphold His Word. Everyone else can take it or leave it. Or fuck off.

 We are answerable Only to the site owner. This is all we need to remember. It is all the trace kickers need to grasp.
