Quick word about comments ...
Comments here are 'moderated'. In as much that I have to physically see them and wave them through once you hit Send.
So, if ye write a Comment. Post it. Don't see it? No worries. It's just sitting there, waiting for me to come online and find it in my email. I click and your words appear here.
Please don't post it several times. Get frustrated and storm off, never to be seen again. It's just a measure I was forced to put into place by doxxers, spammers and other, mentally unstable's.

Goodness Gracious ....!
Great Bowels of Fire!
Well, I finally found myself standing out there in the kitchen, about to start the same old slog of preparing my daily meal of Chops, Chips and Cabbage. And I'd had enough. It was getting fucking depressing, just preparing it. Then sitting here and looking at it. Eating that same experience. Must've been a year now? Time for change.
Chilli popped into my head. I decided to make some. So, yesterday I was all over town, trying to track down what I recollected were my usual ingredients. I was rather flying by the seat of my pants as I'd kept no record of how I used to make it.
I Know I wrote the whole process out, for Diggist, on THL. I tried Googling things like " Ditch Chilli Hunting Life ". Came up with loads of my old posts there. Loads more I couldn't view, as a non member. Damn recipe's in there, somewhere.
What ever. I went for 3 Ilbs of minced beef. 4 onions. Picked up four cans of red beans, planning ahead a little. Poxy little box of Chilli powder, from the Whole Food shop.
What I've done now is get confused, or forgetful, and have made what amounts to a single portion when I should have made two. No matter. It'll be quick as a flash, getting another one on tonight, after this one. Only, I'll probably just use one tin of beans, not two. Nice, otherwise. But getting pricey.
And the powder? I remembered I'd learned it's best to chuck what ever powder into ones Chilli's or Curry's in the last couple of hours. Otherwise, they tend to 'cook out'.
So, I found myself looking at this poxy little box of Organic Chilli Powder. £2.00. FFS. Damned if I could remember what I'd used before, or how much. I bought my curry powder by the Kilo. This little snatch looked a joke! I slung half the box in.
Just getting my rice ready and said to Orange Dog; " I must just taste this shit. See what it tastes like. " Stuck my fingers into the Slow Cooker. Picked out a pinch and popped it in my mouth.
That's when I started screaming, blaspheming and generally rushing around the place like a headless chicken!
Half a fucking box in one meal?! I'll be a bit more circumspect and respectful of that stuff next time!
Tomorrow should be 'fun' too!

ReplyDeleteWe pull up at the Akram Stores in Southsea,..and buy in bulk,..then home for a reet auld 'bum burner',..lol...
Chuck a cheapo tin of baked beans in to the next one as a substitute for one of the tins of kidney beans to keep the cost down. Tastes nice and give you a bit more sauce! ;)
